Crochet elf slippers pattern now available here.
These novelty slippers, with curled toes, can be worked in a variety of yarns (4ply, DK, Aran, WW, light chunky), to any size using a few simple measurements.
A. Around the foot, at the widest part, generally just behind the toes.
B. The distance from measurement A to the heel.
C. The distance from measurement A to the toe.
An illustration is provided to help you take these measurements.
Basic stitches are used and pictures are included throughout.
Change colours for pixies, witches or jesters!!!
Quantities vary with chosen size or yarn. As a guide, a pair of adult sized slippers will use less than 300m. You will also need some contrasting colour for the trim.
It is preferable to work with a hook that produces neat (tighter) stitches not loose ones and I have given a suggested gauge of 16sts and 9 rows to 4” in DK yarn working in UK trebles.
Ultimately, you will need: the measurements above, your chosen yarn, an appropriately sized hook, two stitch markers and a wool needle for neatening ends. Embellishments like pom-poms or bells are optional.
The pattern is written in UK terms with a table of US equivalents provided as applicable.
