Etsy Treasuries

I’ve had a quiet week in terms of crocheting – I think I’ve only picked my hook up once this week :O

That doesn’t mean I’ve been doing nothing, of course :)  I have several patterns being tested, the children have finished school for the summer holidays and I’ve been busy, behind the scenes, setting up an online shop for the website…which it turns out is a lot more involved than I imagined – eeek!

But, it does mean I’ve had more time to spend catching up on my fellow designers and seeing what they’ve all been working on recently.  One of my favourite ways to do this is usually over at Pinterest  but ‘Oh My Word’ how easy is it to lose your day over there – so many crafts, hacks and recipes to tempt – my house would no doubt look like the product of a ‘Nailed It!’ meme if I didn’t control myself just a little ;)

So, in an attempt to stop myself Pin-crastinating this week, I’ve limited myself to browsing Etsy – in particular, the Mad Mad Makers on Etsy.  I’ve created three Etsy treasuries (Coffee and Cream, Pretty in Pink and It’s a Grey Day) so you can see all my favourites in one place :)  I hope you like the contents as much as I do:

Extreme

As some of you may know, I took a break from work on Monday and Tuesday.  I got to spend a few girly days in Birmingham, with my two fabulous daughters.  The trip was centred around a visit to the O2 Academy to see Extreme – a band I first saw in 1992 with a friend from school :)

By the time we got to the concert, we’d spent several hours on a train, walked for what felt like miles and ditched our belongings in a hostel at the other end of town.  We may have been tired (as the bags under my eyes can testify) but nothing could stop us smiling :)

Birmingham Trip

The observant among you might recognise the scarf my eldest daughter is wearing – hehe, yes, I finally finished it ;)

The concert was amazing and I was like a crazy fool by the end…especially when I got the chance to touch Nuno Bettencourt’s arm during an end-of-concert frenzy ;)

PS I make no apologies for not acting my age – the band members are older than I am :O  If they can rock it out like they are 21, I can get away with acting like a teenager for the night :P

Anyway, enough of my shenanigans, back to business :)  You may recall, before I left, I uploaded a sneaky pre-opening link to the Milestone Madness Giveaway – 26 amazing crafter and creators coming together to bring you amazing prizes and more.

The hand made items and patterns up for grabs are amazing so, while there’s still time to enter, get clicking – what are you waiting for lol!

Introducing the Summer Combo

Summer Crochet for the Crochet Stitch Challenge Game

Well, I’ve swatched and sampled and I think I’ve got the basics of a design started for the Crochet Stitch Challenge Game – YAY!

At the moment, I don’t know if it’s a top, a dress or a skirt…or possibly, all three ;)

Here’s the top version – getting somewhere, yes?

Summer Top

I decided, after making this, that the flower would look amazing in yellow – it has a real summer daffodil appearance to it.  So, despite my good intentions to stick to stash busting for a while, I just couldn’t resist popping to the store to get some yellow.

I think I may have got a little carried away.  But, at least I got the yellow!

Summer Rainbow Yarn

Ooops, I may have fallen off the no-yarn wagon but, can you blame me…isn’t it gorgeous?!?!

So, anyway, the plan now is a summer dress in the same pattern, with rainbow stripes and a little yellow flower.  There should even be enough for a little shrug top to go with it :)

I may be a few days getting this done as I’m going on a short trip on Monday and Tuesday.  A trip to Birmingham with my two fabulous daughters, an 80s rock concert and a night in a hostel for good measure.  Remind me to check the details of the hotel next time I make a booking lol.

Hope you’re having a wonderful sunny summer where you are.  And, if not, I can recommend some yarn therapy in rainbow colours for an amazing summery feel :)

And, the winner is…

Woohoo – voting is closed and we have a winning stitch!

Thank you to everyone who clicked.

Now it’s our turn.  Over the next 4 weeks, we (Samantha, Crystal and Tammy) will do our best to see what we can design with it.

Crochet Stitches Challenge

BIG THANKS to everyone who has already added their favourite crochet stitches to the link up.  I’ve even stolen some paper flowers off my daughter to show you my gratitude ;)

Thank you (2)

There are one or two stitches I’ve never attempted before, (butterfly stitch and Bavarian Crochet), so I’m nervous AND excited to see if they will get chosen as your favourites :)

Voting opens tomorrow evening (at 8:00 GMT) so there’s still plenty of time to get more crochet stitches uploaded.  Don’t forget, everyone who submits one will get a FREE copy of any pattern(s) that we design in the challenge.

Invite your friends so they can bag a copy too!

Have a great Saturday.
Thanks again ♥ Tammy, Samantha and Crystal
